I have been serving with CEDCAS, a "whole person health care" approach to working with impoverished families in shanty towns. Our interest is in helping families with the physical, mental, emotional, financial and spiritual aspects of their lives. The medical /dental clinic continues to be our strongest aspect and with the House of Health, the emphasis on prevention is so important. We continue to do community development and help with food bags when natural disasters cause havoc in our country. We have had more than 45 tropical storms passthrough Costa Rica in 2025. People have lost their homes, lost their jobs and so much more.
CEDCAS has stepped up to help many of these families in different parts of the country by providing food bags, clothing, school supplies and uniforms. CEDCAS has a clinic where medical and dental care are provided at accessible prices and with highly qualified professionals. They have a kid’s club with 60 kids and 40 adolescents and an elderly club with a group of 40. What an opportunity to share God’s love and care for each of these families. - Pray that our witness to the families we minister to, will see Jesus and receive the gift of Salvation.
- Pray that the funds for our outreach programs will come in so that we can continue to show God’s love.
- Pray that God will send mission teams to help us in our outreach and to help build the Memory Youth Center with the Baptist church in Santo Tomas.
- Pray for our staff as that they might continue to stay healthy.
